Product Development Engineer II (Label Solutions)

Location: 170 Monarch Ln, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342, USA; full-time, onsite role with up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Develop labels using materials, adhesives, coatings, and inks to meet application, printer compatibility, and manufacturability requirements.
• Plan and execute laboratory and pilot-scale research, experiments, performance testing, and technical reporting.
• Support new product introduction, manufacturing scale-up, production troubleshooting, and material-substitution studies.
• Research adjacent technologies and develop knowledge across labels, RFID, thermal printers, and IoT devices.
• Translate Voice-of-Customer input into technical requirements and lead technical planning, milestones, and decisions within stage-gate NPD projects.
• Collaborate with product development, sales, marketing, quality, operations, suppliers, and customers; contribute to invention disclosures and intellectual property applications.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Organic Chemistry, or a comparable field.
• 3–4+ years of industrial experience in new product development and performance testing.
• Knowledge of materials science, paper materials, adhesives, coatings, inks, food packaging, and flexographic printing.
• Experience with component solution development, device compatibility studies, test-method creation, and characterization of chemical and physical material properties.
• Experience with stage-gate processes, project management, manufacturing scale-up, product launches, and quality engineering collaboration.
• Strong experimentation, communication, ownership, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
