Supplier Engineer III (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Relocation eligible; up to 30% domestic and international travel required.

Salary: $110,500–$152,000 per year, plus potential bonus and stock awards.

What you will do

• Lead supplier quality improvement plans covering quality, delivery, capacity, cost, risk, and operational excellence.
• Act as the primary technical interface for machining and contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Resolve factory- and customer-impacting issues using 8D, DMAIC, and root cause corrective action methods.
• Conduct supplier assessments, technical audits, manufacturing process evaluations, and readiness reviews for new product introductions.
• Lead cross-functional projects with Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Analyze supplier metrics, communicate risks and improvement plans, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
• Experience with machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Knowledge of CNC machining, assemblies, welding, fabrication, precision components, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Experience leading corrective actions, root cause investigations, continuous improvement, and cross-functional projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace, medical device, or other high-tech manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, and Quality Management Systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• PMP certification or demonstrated project management experience.
• Experience auditing suppliers and closing corrective actions.
