TL;DR
Manufacturing Control Engineer (Electrical Engineering/Automation): Supporting, designing, validating, and optimizing production-scale manufacturing equipment and control systems with an accent on PLCs, drives, motors, sensors, and electromechanical systems. Focus on troubleshooting automation equipment, improving reliability and productivity, commissioning capital projects, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Location: Onsite in Eagan, Minnesota, United States. Travel may include up to 10% domestic and international travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $85,200–$117,150 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

  • Support and maintain production-scale manufacturing and process development equipment in laboratory and pilot production environments.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and provide technical support for controls, automation, electromechanical, and web-processing equipment.
  • Lead equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives focused on performance, quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Design, install, modify, validate, and optimize manufacturing equipment and control systems, including PLCs, drives, motors, sensors, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Partner with Engineering, R&D, Production, and cross-functional teams on equipment startups, process improvements, technology transfers, and capital projects.
  • Develop preventive and corrective maintenance strategies and maintain equipment documentation, technical drawings, and system records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics discipline.
  • At least two years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems, automation controls, SCADA, robotics, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience programming, modifying, or troubleshooting PLCs and industrial motor drives, VFDs, servo systems, or related control systems.
  • Experience with industrial electrical equipment, electrical control systems, power distribution, or industrial maintenance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation/Controls Engineering, or Robotics Engineering.
  • Project management experience involving engineering, automation, equipment installation, or process improvement.
  • Experience with facilities design, capital equipment selection and installation, commissioning, startup activities, or pre-startup safety reviews.
