Supplier Engineer IV

Location: Home / Mobile, AZ-001, United States; up to 30% domestic and international travel required. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $116,000–$159,500 per year

What you will do

• Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and performance plans covering quality, delivery, capacity, cost, and operational excellence.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for machining and contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Lead 8D, DMAIC, and root cause corrective action activities for factory- and customer-impacting issues.
• Conduct supplier assessments, technical audits, process evaluations, and manufacturing capability reviews.
• Support new product introductions through supplier readiness assessments, qualification plans, process reviews, and risk mitigation.
• Lead cross-functional projects, analyze supplier metrics, communicate executive-level risks, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, materials science, quality engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in supplier engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, or a related discipline.
• Experience with machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, assemblies, welding, fabrication, precision components, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Experience leading corrective actions, root cause investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including on short notice, for supplier audits and critical quality issues.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace, medical devices, or other high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience with contract manufacturers, build-to-print suppliers, and global supply chains.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, and quality management systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, PMP certification, or supplier audit experience.
