Workday Technical Lead (AI)

Estimated starting salary: $124,771.42–$171,560.71 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead solution design for complex Workday initiatives and translate business needs into architecture diagrams, data flows, and technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Workday integrations, Orchestrate workflows, Extend applications, APIs, middleware connections, agents, and data lake solutions.
• Implement secure integration patterns using OAuth, SAML, and other authentication standards.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot integrations, manage break-fix triage, and support release operations.
• Partner with the Workday Product Owner and business stakeholders to drive technical solutions from requirements through delivery.
• Improve integration methodologies, development standards, documentation, and team practices while evaluating AI/LLM opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; 10 years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• 6+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on Workday technical experience.
• Deep expertise in Workday integrations, security, reports, business processes, Orchestrate, Report Writer, RaaS, WQL, and Extend.
• Workday certification in Orchestrate or Integrations.
• Experience with XML, SQL, JSON, REST, SOAP, GraphQL, integration testing, release management, and operational best practices.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Workday certification in Extend or related domains.
• Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or Data Cloud.
• Exposure to AI/LLM integration patterns in HR technology workflows.
• Understanding of global HR processes, payroll landscapes, and HR compliance.
• Experience in an embedded product team, Workday services partner, or HRIS/IT environment.
