Entry Level Physical Properties Technician (Materials Science)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; full-time laboratory position

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare test samples for adhesive products.
• Test the properties of solids, paper, tape, and film products.
• Measure tensile, shear, and bond strength.
• Evaluate mechanical properties using an MTS tester.
• Perform density and viscosity tests.
• Carry out routine equipment maintenance and assist with laboratory maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a similar laboratory science.
• Experience working in a laboratory with precision measurement tools and electronic equipment.
• Experience creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
• Strong communication, organization, observation, and task-management skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience using common hand tools.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
