Lab Chemist (Advanced Materials)

What you will do

• Conduct laboratory testing and characterization of epoxy and polyurethane systems, adhesives, composites, coatings, and electrical insulation materials.
• Develop, prepare, and evaluate formulations, blends, and experimental samples for product development and application testing.
• Perform physical, mechanical, thermal, and chemical testing using ASTM, ISO, customer-specific, and internal methods.
• Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data through laboratory notebooks, databases, technical reports, and presentations.
• Support technical research, manufacturing trials, process development, product scale-up, and root cause investigations.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while following HSEQ and laboratory safety requirements.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 2 years of laboratory experience in product development, formulation development, materials testing, or related technical activities.
• Experience using ASTM and ISO test methods for laboratory testing and characterization.
• Ability to analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methodologies, material characterization, thermoset chemistry, and formulation principles.
• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Experience with thermoset polymers, including epoxy systems, polyurethane systems, adhesives, coatings, composites, or electrical insulation materials.
• Experience with thermal analysis, mechanical testing, formulation development, application testing, manufacturing trials, or product scale-up.
• Experience in a research, product development, or technical service laboratory.
