TL;DR
Avionics Technical Trainer III (Aerospace): Developing, delivering, and maintaining technical training programs and learning materials for aircraft avionics, MRO operations, and aviation systems with an accent on e-learning tools, LMS administration, regulatory compliance, and customer training. Focus on evaluating training effectiveness, troubleshooting technical or process issues, coordinating with engineering and program teams, and mentoring less experienced trainers.
Location: Vandalia, Ohio, United States. The role includes on-site and remote training delivery, but is based at the Vandalia location. U.S. citizenship and an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

What you will do
- Lead the development, design, implementation, and maintenance of technical training content and materials.
- Deliver on-site and remote training sessions for internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and program management to ensure training accuracy and alignment with objectives.
- Advise on technical training programs, administer Learning Management Systems, and maintain training records.
- Collect participant feedback and develop evaluation criteria to improve training effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced technical trainers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, education, human resources, aviation technology, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
- At least 4 years of experience in technical training or a related field; 8 years of related experience is required without a degree.
- Advanced proficiency with e-learning development tools and Learning Management Systems.
- Proven aircraft avionics experience, including Part 145 MRO operations and compliance with DCMAI 8210.1, OSHA, AS9100, IPC-620, and other regulatory requirements.
- Strong technical writing, verbal communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
- Current active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
Nice to have
- 5 or more years of experience in aircraft maintenance, modification, or MRO environments.
- Aviation Technology or Aerospace Engineering degree, or relevant A&P, FAA Inspection Authorization, or other certification.
- Experience with systems implementation, process improvement, digital transformation, or adult technical learning.
- Experience supporting DoD or government aviation programs and collaborating with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and IT teams.
