Staff Engineer, Receiver Products (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, WA, United States of America; hybrid work with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week

Salary: $208,000–$260,000 starting base salary annually

What you will do

• Set technical direction and own architecture for complex full-stack systems across web, mobile, and backend services.
• Define APIs, data models, and event-driven architectures designed to serve tens of millions of users.
• Deliver new receiver-facing financial product experiences from concept through production.
• Integrate receiver capabilities with money movement, foreign exchange, liquidity, identity, pricing, and compliance platforms.
• Build security, AML, KYC, regulatory controls, encryption, least-privilege access, and audit trails into the product.
• Mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, and improve system reliability, observability, scalability, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience building and operating systems end to end.
• Customer-facing product experience with TypeScript, React, and/or native mobile development for iOS, Android, or React Native.
• Production experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python and modern backend development.
• Experience designing distributed, large-scale systems with service-oriented and event-driven architectures, RESTful and asynchronous APIs, and relational or distributed databases.
• Experience leading large, multi-team initiatives and influencing technical direction across team boundaries.
• Experience using AI across the software development lifecycle and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Nice to have

• Experience building financial products for emerging markets or working with payments infrastructure such as card rails, ACH, real-time payment networks, mobile money, or digital wallets.
• Familiarity with AML/KYC frameworks, PCI-DSS, or SOC 2 in a software context.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or other regulated industries.
