Staff Engineer (Fullstack)

Location: Austin, Texas or anywhere in the USA; hybrid work with onsite client attendance required when the project, client, or management requires it.

Salary: $80,000–$400,000 per year

What you will do

• Mentor engineers, support career development, participate in hiring and annual reviews, and help shape engineering culture.
• Define, shape, present, and improve engineering practices, architectures, technology stacks, reusable components, and reference implementations.
• Partner with hirify.global leadership and contribute technical expertise to business development content and proposals.
• Lead project technology selection and team design while translating business requirements into deployable systems.
• Contribute production code and improve the quality of architecture, documentation, testing, and continuous delivery.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of software development experience, including work in team environments.
• Expertise in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python language and framework ecosystems.
• Experience defining, implementing, and using CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with SOA, microservices, enterprise application integration, middleware, and integration data flows.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization methods, data management, database schema design, transaction boundaries, and read/write trade-offs.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, business administration, or a related field; experience with Scrum, Kanban, or XP.

Nice to have

• Experience experimenting with emerging architectural approaches, cloud provider offerings, productivity tools, ChatGPT, or Copilot.
