Workers' Compensation Associate Senior Counsel

Location: Hybrid position based in Glendale, California, serving Southern California

Annual base salary: $120,400–$198,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage a caseload of moderate- to higher-complexity workers' compensation and other insurance defense litigation matters.
• Prepare cases for hearings, depositions, dispositive motions, trial, appeal, or negotiated resolution.
• Conduct advanced legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents.
• Analyze cases and advise insured clients and Claims partners on file-handling strategies.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants to develop case strategies and prepare testimony.
• Build client and business partner relationships, provide legal training, mentor attorneys and support staff, and contribute to office initiatives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 4 years of experience practicing law; 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience preferred.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Experience handling hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, or other court proceedings.
• Strong oral and written advocacy, legal research, negotiation, decision-making, and case-management skills.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on the location, with the ability to travel to court and other appointments.
