Network Engineer - Intermediate

Location: Fort Belvoir, Virginia, USA. On-site support is required, including weekday coverage from 07:00 to 17:00 and on-call availability for critical outages and VIP tickets.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year. Full-time position.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, ICAN, wireless, data, and voice network infrastructure.
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, SONET equipment, servers, storage, cabling, and related network components.
• Respond to critical network disruptions and VIP tickets, including after-hours and on-call support across regional government facilities.
• Analyze network performance, test software and device upgrades, maintain configuration records, and develop automated deployment processes.
• Support PKI, CAC authentication, SSL, VPN, CITRIX, SQL servers, security patching, and Information Assurance compliance.
• Provide COMSEC support, including cryptographic key management, OTAR, device configuration, inventory control, and secure communications maintenance.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance is mandatory.
• IAT Level II certification and CompTIA Security+ are required.
• At least three years of relevant network engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with government customers and senior officials.
• Ability to provide weekday coverage and on-call assistance for network failures and urgent service requests.

• CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, MCSE, CCENT, CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNP Routing and Switching, or VMware Certified Professional.
