TL;DR
Test Engineer - Automated Test Equipment (LabVIEW): Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test equipment for aerospace and electronics products with an accent on LabVIEW-based hardware and software integration. Focus on building high-complexity test systems, developing data acquisition software, and creating accurate test procedures and documentation.

Location: On-site in Burbank, California, United States. The role may require domestic and international travel of up to 20%.

Salary: $95,000–$111,000 USD annual for Test Engineer II; $120,100–$138,584 USD annual for Test Engineer III.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain automated test equipment hardware and software for aerospace and electronics products.
  • Develop, code, and debug automated test and data acquisition systems using National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar platforms.
  • Define product and process requirements, test equipment specifications, design margins, test limits, and test procedures.
  • Create wiring diagrams, schematics, component lists, procedures, and other documentation required to reconstruct test systems and archive test data.
  • Support production with new test equipment, error-proofing initiatives, upgrades, and testability reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and business functions to meet performance, cost, schedule, manufacturability, reliability, and safety targets.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience for Level II or 5+ years for Level III.
  • BA or BS degree in an engineering discipline; a master's degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design, electronic schematics, PIC microprocessor design, and National Instruments test equipment.
  • Knowledge of automated test system design, data acquisition programming, software development and verification, requirements analysis, and test procedure development.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, C#, Python, Visual Studio or similar platforms, plus SPICE, CAD, schematic design, and PWB layout.
  • Only US Persons may be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required; the role is subject to ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • National Instruments LabVIEW certification and advanced LabVIEW development experience.
  • Experience in regulated or manufacturing environments and previous aerospace testing experience.
  • Level III candidates may mentor junior engineers and other personnel in their area of expertise.
