TL;DR
Senior Electronics Test Engineer I (Aerospace): Designing and implementing test architectures, plans, and automation for board-level power, digital, RF, and integrated satellite communication electronics with an accent on measurement techniques, test equipment, data management, and design for testability. Focus on developing reusable Python-based test software, characterizing high-speed and RF interfaces, validating hardware across temperature and qualification stages, and presenting results to customers and executives.

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $120,000–$160,500 per year.

What you will do

  • Develop test architectures and systems, including equipment selection, test fixtures, data logging, and interfaces.
  • Design and execute prototype, qualification, acceptance, and board-level verification tests.
  • Build reusable Python-based software for flight hardware and test-equipment interfaces, automation, and data management.
  • Design integrated hardware and software test systems for radios, computers, and phased-array antennas.
  • Advise design engineers on design-for-testability and support product requirements development.
  • Evaluate and present test results, train technicians, and contribute to laboratory buildout and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least four years of industry or university research experience in electronic products or test systems.
  • Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Python, LabVIEW, SQL, MATLAB, or Embedded C.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Git or SVN, Windows and Linux, VLANs, and network security.
  • Experience developing production graphical user interfaces and programming test equipment with SCPI.
  • Knowledge of GPIB, USB, VISA, TCP/IP, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, and analog-to-digital conversion.
