Senior PCB Test Engineer (PCBA)

Location: Broomfield, Colorado, United States. Work in laboratory and manufacturing environments and provide occasional off-hour support for global manufacturing operations. Must be eligible to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $90,000–$147,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, deploy, and support automated PCBA test systems, including hardware, software, and mechanical fixtures.
• Develop automated test applications with NI LabVIEW and TestStand, including user-friendly GUIs and test report generation.
• Work with contract manufacturers to implement AOI, ICT, and functional testing while improving yield and reducing rejection and scrap.
• Perform verification and validation of duplicate automated test systems before release to manufacturing partners.
• Troubleshoot UUT failures and test-system anomalies, analyze SPC data, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide frontline technical support and remote assistance, including virtual and augmented reality tools for technician training and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience developing PCBA functional test programs involving hardware and software, ideally in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand; ability to read electrical schematics and create wiring diagrams using tools such as PADS and Visio.
• Expertise in PCBA quality screening, test coverage analysis, AOI, X-ray, flying probe, ICT, boundary scan, functional testing, and statistical quality methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, waveform generators, and DAQ devices, plus experience writing and reviewing test specifications and procedures.
• Strong project planning skills and the ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or CLD certification.
• Familiarity with low-noise analog and high-speed digital PCB designs, DFT, and DFM principles.
• Experience with Minitab, vendor management, or external design partner coordination.
