Senior Communications Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; in office/on base two days a week

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

hirify.global supports the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) Division, a major defense acquisition program developing and delivering the replacement fleet for the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center.

What you will do

• Develop SAOC communications technical requirements and manage prime contractor compliance across development, testing, sustainment, and operations.
• Analyze voice, LOS, BLOS datalink, satellite relay, internet, broadband, and wireless telephone technologies.
• Oversee the development, integration, and fielding of communications equipment for the SAOC fleet.
• Develop and implement plans and procedures for managing the aircraft communications network in accordance with DoD acquisition processes.
• Manage communications system interfaces and support their integration with weapon systems.
• Maintain network architecture and infrastructure, analyze spectrum requirements, and participate in program office working groups.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance required; Top Secret preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of experience in aircraft and/or tactical communications, including 10 years in the DoD.
• Experience with communications system design, integration, testing, sustainment, and operations.
• Preferred: master’s degree in engineering and 20 years of aircraft and/or tactical communications experience, including 5 years in the DoD.
