Location: San Francisco, United States; work is based at the Northern California headquarters.
Base salary: $145,000β$235,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Develop and execute environmental, accelerated life, shock, vibration, thermal cycling, HALT, and HASS qualification and validation tests.
- Design, build, and automate test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems in Python.
- Establish reliability targets and mission profiles for PCBAs, power electronics, avionics, actuators, batteries, high-speed digital systems, and RF hardware.
- Lead DFMEA, FTA, reliability modeling, physics-of-failure predictions, mission risk quantification, and Weibull analysis.
- Investigate validation, production, field, and on-orbit failures using electrical characterization, microscopy, thermal imaging, X-ray, CT, cross-sectioning, and SEM-EDS.
- Guide design reviews, program gates, reliability infrastructure, and cross-functional improvements while mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in reliability, test, or design engineering for high-reliability hardware, or 3+ years with an M.S.
- Hands-on experience testing mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems, including sensors, actuators, instrumentation, and DAQ devices.
- Experience building reliability engineering frameworks, qualification requirements, test programs, production testing, and field data analysis.
- Expertise in FMEA/FMECA, FTA, predictive modeling, Weibull analysis, failure investigation, and design reviews.
- Working proficiency in Python, C++, or another coding language, plus strong technical writing and presentation skills.
Nice to have
- M.S. in engineering or a degree in Reliability Engineering.
- Familiarity with ASTM, JEDEC, IEEE, ISO, and MIL test standards.
- Experience with Weibull++, ReliaSoft, HV testing, JMP, R, Linux, shell scripting, HITL/SITL, Python, or SQL.
