Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's global headquarters

Base salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD per year. Total compensation, including equity: $164,000–$255,000 USD per year.

What you will do

  • Architect clean-sheet RF payloads by running early mission trades and defining payload topologies, analog-to-digital conversion boundaries, waveform-processing constraints, and cryptographic integration.
  • Own technical concepts for tactical satcom, space-based sensing, and direct-to-cell constellation missions.
  • Work with customers and leadership to explain complex RF trade-offs, develop technical architecture narratives, and defend design decisions in proposals.
  • Translate customer mission needs into payload prototyping, R&D priorities, and technology investments.
  • Partner with payload hardware, software, and spacecraft teams to transition architectures into buildable flight-development designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace or defense RF systems.
  • Experience architecting complex multifunction RF, SAR/radar, or digital communication payloads from concept through proposal success.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • For work in U.S. offices, candidates must meet applicable ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility for required government authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in RF/microwave, electromagnetics, radar, or a related field.
  • Experience with antennas, arrays, RF front-end architectures, TR modules, DSP, SAR, MTI, STAP, advanced waveforms, and spectrum management.
  • Experience with digital payloads, RF-compute convergence, radiation effects, resilient RF architectures, and hardware-level post-quantum cryptography requirements.
  • Experience using STK, MATLAB, Python, HFSS, or CST and understanding spacecraft bus impacts on payloads.
  • RF-centric mission design and integration experience, with strong cross-functional communication and technical leadership.
