Digital Communications Architect (Satellite Communications)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise qualify under U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations, and an active security clearance is required.

Salary: $218,000–$266,000 per year. Full-time offers include stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead digital communications product development from initial concept through deployment.
• Provide technical leadership for proposals, customer-facing documentation, presentations, and capture activities.
• Collaborate with Business Development on customer calls and technical solution alignment.
• Conduct feasibility studies and early-stage technical analysis before contract awards.
• Act as pre-contract Chief Engineer by defining Statements of Work and technical requirements.
• Evaluate technologies, make-versus-buy decisions, and R&D-to-product technical transfers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience developing high-speed digital, DSP, and RF systems for terrestrial and space applications.
• Strong expertise in digital communications, RF architecture, FPGA design, DSP algorithms, and satellite payload architecture.
• Experience with digital channelization, digital beamforming, radiation effects and mitigation, and high-speed SERDES/RF PCB design and fabrication.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, mentoring engineers, overseeing technical execution, and supporting complex proposals and customer presentations.
• U.S. citizenship or qualifying protected status and an active security clearance are required.

• Experience with digital beamforming arrays and high-performance signal processing systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for satellite communications.
• Experience with radiation testing and radiation-sensitive space applications.
