Senior Systems Engineer (Space Systems)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; no remote or telework allowed.

Projected annual compensation: $110,204.91–$191,624.96.

hirify.global provides systems engineering technical advisor and systems engineering and integration services for an Intelligence Community customer supporting critical space-domain missions and IT infrastructure.

What you will do

• Design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems and system-oriented products across their life cycle.
• Translate product strategies and customer needs into system requirements, detailed implementation requirements, and verification procedures.
• Coordinate standards, practices, interfaces, and engineering activities across hardware and software disciplines.
• Work with government customers, developers, operations and maintenance contractors, and internal and external users to shape and deliver new capabilities.
• Lead or support system configuration, testing, verification, validation, user training, and transition into operations.
• Capture baseline system architecture and support the transition to a digital engineering ecosystem.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required and must be maintainable.
• Technical bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 6–8 years with a master's degree, or 3–5 years with a PhD; relevant hardware/software systems development or acquisition experience may substitute.
• 3–5 years of experience with space and ground communications systems and a mid-level understanding of RF communications theory.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within engineering teams and demonstrated success working with government customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial or government acquisition of satellite and ground-segment hardware and software.
• SETA experience supporting Chantilly Intelligence Community customer requirements and readiness processes.
• Experience with satellite communications ground-segment support, systems engineering and integration, and testing, verification, and validation.
• Familiarity with digital engineering for capturing baseline system architecture.
