What you will do

• Assist scientists and technicians with laboratory research procedures and operate scientific instruments and equipment.
• Perform routine experimental techniques, including electrophoresis, centrifugation, and chromatography.
• Collect, organize, verify, and record research data and instrument results.
• Prepare calculations, charts, graphs, reports, and formatted test documentation.
• Maintain laboratory records, order supplies when needed, and participate in laboratory meetings and planning.
• Maintain insects, plants, animals, or bacterial and tissue cultures when required by the laboratory.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
• Some related laboratory experience is preferred.
• Ability to draft routine reports, maintain accurate records, and perform calculations.
• Ability to learn complex laboratory tasks with general instruction and apply new techniques.
• Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods, move around the workspace, and handle materials weighing several pounds.
• Work may involve exposure to vapors, low-dose radiation, toxic chemicals, acids, contamination, and carcinogenic substances.
