Research Technologist

Location: Bar Harbor, Maine, United States; full-time, with flexible shifts that may include occasional evenings and weekends.

Pay range: $18.59–$29.51 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze proteomic and metabolite samples using protein biochemistry techniques.
• Perform protein extraction, metabolite extraction, protein quantification, and other laboratory protocols.
• Maintain instruments, workstations, laboratory organization, sanitation, and inventory control.
• Use the laboratory information management system to record activities and generate reports.
• Support experiments and special projects while learning new techniques from senior laboratory personnel.
• Collaborate with the Protein Sciences team and participate in weekly group meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or at least two years of experience where wet-lab techniques were major responsibilities.
• Ability to understand and implement laboratory protocols, conduct experiments, interpret data, and present findings.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, multitasking, written communication, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, web browser, and database software.
• Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance with a professional, positive, and flexible approach.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evening or weekend hours, based on research and laboratory operational needs.

Nice to have

• Mass spectrometry experience, including sample preparation and instrument maintenance.
