Maintenance Mechanic A (12-Hour Daytime Shift)

Location: Melrose Park, Illinois, United States; onsite 12-hour daytime shift

What you will do

• Perform preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery in a sterile, aseptic environment.
• Perform general building maintenance and skilled-trade work including plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, and related tasks.
• Read and apply blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics, prints, and operating manuals.
• Document maintenance work and follow current Good Manufacturing Practices, safety procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support other mechanics, identify faulty operations, maintain work areas, and suggest process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or applicable certifications are highly preferred.
• At least 3 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a regulated, technical work environment.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, lockout/tagout, and arc flash requirements.
• Ability to work with skilled-trade systems such as PLCs, controls, robotics, boilers, HVAC, mechanical and electrical equipment, carpentry, and welding.
• Basic computer skills, technology aptitude, and ability to work with Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Effective spoken and written English is required; ability to stand or kneel for extended periods, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, achieve aseptic gowning certification, and work overtime or weekends when required.
