Maintenance Mechanic (First Shift)

Location: Columbia, SC, USA; onsite, first shift

Salary: $27.49–$31.50 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain plant equipment and production machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment changeovers according to production demands.
• Rebuild conveyors and sorting equipment and prepare new machines for safe operation.
• Use technical testing, machine-operation data, and maintenance records to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS system.
• Communicate with supervisors and maintenance teammates while working as part of a natural work team.

Requirements

• Technical school accreditation or completion of an applicable skilled trades program, plus 2–4 years of experience.
• Required experience in cutting, welding, and grinding.
• Working knowledge of mechanical prints, motors, controls, conveyors, pneumatic tools, production machinery, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
• Ability to lift 10–50 lbs. and frequently bend, twist, kneel, push, pull, and reach.
• Ability to follow directions, solve moderately complex maintenance issues, and work cooperatively with teammates.
