Maintenance Mechanic (Manufacturing)

Location: Melrose Park, Illinois, United States; on-site manufacturing facility

Salary: $30.00–$32.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive, scheduled, and emergency repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems during production and machine servicing.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery in a sterile, aseptic environment while following gowning requirements.
• Read and apply blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics, prints, and operating manuals.
• Perform general building maintenance and skilled-trade work involving plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, and related systems.
• Document completed work in accordance with current GMP standards and maintain safe, clean, orderly work areas.
• Support other mechanics, complete equipment readings and expendable-item changes, and contribute maintenance process improvement ideas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or applicable certifications are highly preferred.
• At least 3 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a regulated, technical work environment.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, lockout/tagout, and arc-flash safety requirements.
• Ability to work with skilled-trade systems including PLCs, controls, robotics, boilers, HVAC, mechanical and electrical equipment, and welding.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office and SAP, plus the ability to read, write, and perform mathematics for technical work.
• Effective spoken and written English is required; ability to stand or kneel for extended periods, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, obtain aseptic gowning certification, and work overtime or weekends when required.
