Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Downers Grove, Illinois, United States; onsite, 3rd shift

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control system issues using manuals, schematics, testing equipment, and measurement tools.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery, boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, fire protection systems, and building infrastructure.
• Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and communications using Microsoft Office, SAP, email, and related systems.
• Work with maintenance, production, operations, quality, food safety, logistics, EHS, contractors, and service providers.
• Follow safety, HACCP, GMP, SQF, food quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement and technical training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic electrical training or equivalent experience and experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of safe hand and power tool use, equipment manuals, schematics, diagrams, ladder logic, and basic control circuits.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and email systems.
• Ability to work independently, perform physically demanding work, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a manufacturing environment with machinery, electrical hazards, noise, dust, and temperature variation.
• Strong attendance and punctuality are required; overtime and weekend work may be needed. A minimum one-year commitment and successful completion of a 90-day evaluation period are required.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of manufacturing equipment maintenance experience.
• Boiler, HVAC, refrigeration, chiller, facility infrastructure, PLC, controls, or automated manufacturing experience.
• Welding, machining, fabrication, forklift certification, food manufacturing, CMMS, or SAP maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF, and food safety programs.
