Senior RF Systems Engineer II Pipeline (RF Communications)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The role is based at hirify.global's global headquarters and is intended for candidates seeking to work in U.S. offices.

Base salary: $141,800–$212,600 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $174,300–$269,875 USD annually.

What you will do

• Define and maintain requirements specifications and conduct payload design trades for new business proposals.
• Drive RF product and subsystem development, including design decisions, technical analyses, and development of test plans and procedures.
• Develop payload and TT&C subsystems, support RF payload testing, and contribute to GSE and production automation.
• Prepare product documentation, including interface control documents and user manuals.
• Review proposals and requirements for compliance with existing capabilities, scope development activities, and support PDRs, CDRs, and TRRs.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers, troubleshoot anomalies, and coordinate product development and production schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, RF communications, or another engineering discipline, plus 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated RF expertise, including link budget analysis, linearity, and practical and theoretical knowledge of RF communications and navigation systems.
• Experience with ITU constraints, including PFD limits and DSN protection.
• End-to-end experience developing and delivering multiple RF systems, from requirements assessment and engineering models through space-qualified products and mission support.
• Detailed knowledge of satellite operations, RF licensing, and ground station networks.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements; candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance and meet applicable ITAR work-authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• Existing TS/SCI clearance and extensive space-grade system design experience.
• Experience with worst-case, reliability, FMECA, thermal, and derating analyses.
• Experience leading complex engineering programs, producing technical documentation, and designing, integrating, and testing RF systems for launch vehicles or satellites.
• Mentoring, incident management, investigation, conflict resolution, and project management experience.
