Tire Technician (Automotive)

Location: Houston, TX, USA; candidates should reside within 50 miles of 21021 Essman Lane, Houston, TX 77073

Salary: $22–$36 per hour, plus potential annual bonus of 10% of eligible earnings including overtime.

What you will do

• Inspect, repair, replace, mount, and dismount tires on USAL tractors and carhaul trailers.
• Maintain tires and assist with preventive maintenance inspections to support safe and reliable fleet operations.
• Measure tread depth, verify air pressure, identify wear patterns, and detect unsafe conditions.
• Document completed work, maintain tire records, and complete inspection forms accurately.
• Operate tire machines, air tools, impact tools, torque wrenches, jacks, lifts, and related shop equipment safely.
• Communicate with mechanics, drivers, supervisors, shop leadership, and customers in a fast-paced maintenance environment.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• Primary residence within 50 miles of the assigned terminal in Houston, Texas.
• Commercial truck and trailer tire experience preferred; knowledge of tire mounting, dismounting, repair, tread-depth measurement, and air-pressure standards required.
• Basic understanding of DOT tire requirements and commercial fleet safety standards.
• Ability to lift, roll, move, mount, and dismount heavy commercial tires and work outdoors, in yards, and in shop conditions.
• Ability to read and write English, legal authorization to work in the United States, and successful pre-employment screening and drug test required.
