Maintenance Technician

Location: Latitude, Urbana, Illinois, United States; work is performed at the assigned property. Periodic travel and on-call coverage, including after-hours and weekend emergencies, may be required.

Salary: $20–$25 USD per hour, plus discretionary annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Respond to maintenance and repair requests and complete routine and minor repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, appliances, HVAC components, plumbing fixtures, electrical and lighting systems.
• Prepare apartments for resident turnovers and meet completion deadlines.
• Document completed work, parts and supplies used, follow-up needs, and materials required.
• Maintain clean, safe, and functional property areas in accordance with operating procedures, OSHA, and industry standards.
• Provide professional service to residents, contractors, service staff, and property management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Pool Operator certification, or willingness to obtain it within six months.
• Valid driver's license and ability to use or learn basic computer operations.
• Clear communication, punctuality, dependability, safety awareness, and ability to work under aggressive deadlines.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including after-hours and weekend emergencies, and serve on call except during approved PTO.
• Ability to stand for at least eight hours per day, lift up to 100 pounds, and travel when required.
