PRN Phlebotomist

Location: Centennial, Colorado; scheduled work may also take place in Aurora, Littleton, or Englewood at Swedish Medical Center Campus.

Salary: $18.29–$23.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and collect, identify, label, and process patient specimens.
• Complete required authorizations, consents, accessioning logs, laboratory reports, and quality assurance documentation.
• Process in-house and incoming laboratory orders and send tests to reference laboratories when needed.
• Perform waived laboratory testing under CLIA guidelines and operate, maintain, and document laboratory equipment.
• Prepare properly labeled specimens for blood product transfusions according to blood bank policy.
• Maintain inventory, cleanliness, safety, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance in the laboratory and phlebotomy areas.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in phlebotomy or a related laboratory setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent recommended.
• Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy recommended.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, operate laboratory equipment, and occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work with patients and handle blood, body fluids, needles, glassware, infectious agents, corrosive chemicals, and chemotherapeutic agents.
• Successful completion of a background check and non-federal drug test, excluding marijuana, is required after the offer and before hire.
