Sr. Sourcing Specialist (Energy)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for complex goods and services supporting major capital projects.
• Develop sourcing strategies, run competitive RFX events, evaluate suppliers, and conduct market assessments.
• Lead commercial and contractual negotiations, recommending contracting and compensation models aligned with project scope and risk.
• Prepare, negotiate, execute, and manage contracts and purchase orders, including amendments, changes, claims, renewals, and closeout.
• Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance, commercial obligations, invoices, reconciliations, and spend commitments.
• Advise Project Management, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain stakeholders while improving procurement and contract management practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, contract management, or supply chain.
• Strong experience leading competitive sourcing events, commercial negotiations, supplier management, and procurement best practices.
• Knowledge of project execution, contract lifecycles, commercial management, claims, change management, and contract law.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Nice to have

• SCMP or an equivalent professional designation.
• Experience with EPC/EPCM, construction, engineering, equipment, services, or material supply agreements.
• Experience supporting major capital projects or working in the energy sector.
• Experience with sourcing methodologies, commercial evaluation, and supplier qualification processes.
• Oracle ERP or a similar procurement system experience.
