TL;DR
Maintenance Technician - Bradshaw Terminal (Pipeline Operations): Maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, electronic, and instrumentation equipment at a refined petroleum pipeline terminal with an accent on pumps, valves, meters, SCADA systems, PLC controllers, and safety equipment. Focus on emergency call-outs, preventive maintenance, commissioning support, regulatory records, and working safely in demanding outdoor and industrial conditions.

Location: Onsite at Bradshaw Terminal in Sacramento, California. The role includes occasional overnight travel, 24-hour emergency call-outs, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and outdoor field work.

Pay range: USD $44.00–$58.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and skills.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, align, and calibrate pumps, motors, valves, meters, tank gauging equipment, pressure and temperature gauges, and related instrumentation.
  • Maintain electrical and control equipment, including switchgear, substations, motor control centers, valve actuators, PLC-based controllers, loading systems, alarms, and automated fire control systems.
  • Maintain DOT-required equipment records, maintenance documentation, CMV logs, lubrication schedules, and preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Support regional and corporate projects, including preoperational testing, startup, commissioning, vendor coordination, and inspection of contractor work.
  • Assist with technician training and support other locations as a floating technician.
  • Follow safety procedures while working around heavy equipment, refined petroleum products, chemicals, vapors, confined spaces, tanks, trenches, and rough terrain.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, technical school degree, or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, mechanical drawings, aerial strip maps, and maintain as-built drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass Operator Qualification requirements and a Commercial Motor Vehicle physical.
  • Current, valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
  • Ability to climb tanks, perform manual labor in extreme weather, work in confined spaces, and respond to 24/7 emergency calls.

Nice to have

  • Experience with refined petroleum pipeline systems, station and terminal operations, pipeline inspection, or petroleum storage and dispensing.
  • Knowledge of pipeline hydraulics, cathodic protection, piping, valves, pressures, pipeline operations, and storage tank inspections.
  • Experience working with construction contractors.
