Senior Operations Insights Specialist (Insurance Analytics)

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India; hybrid work model with at least three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Identify operational risks and process gaps, recommend monitoring tools and controls, and drive data quality improvements.
• Coordinate audit and regulatory support with operations teams, relationship managers, and local or branch-level auditors.
• Manage APAX and ANZ regulatory reporting, including VAT/GST and APRA-related submissions.
• Validate new business deals, complex treaties, premium rates, contractual clauses, claims, and underwriting data.
• Support financial monitoring through variance analysis, quarterly reporting, closing activities, revenue trend analysis, and new business comparisons.
• Define validation logic, contribute to automation and data structuring, and develop Power BI dashboards and operational insights.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in Life & Health Insurance or Reinsurance, preferably with Financial Planning and Analysis exposure.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, SAS, SQL, and Stargate, with experience in complex data validation and financial analysis.
• Advanced analytical skills and an end-to-end understanding of Life & Health insurance concepts and value chains.
• Experience with regulatory and audit processes, including VAT/GST, APRA submissions, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, or a related field.
• Ability to work from Bangalore and attend the office at least three days per week under the hybrid model.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Machine Learning, or AI tools for data analysis and automation.
• Power BI or other data visualization experience.
• IFRS 17 knowledge or certification and experience supporting Actuarial or Finance teams.
• Stakeholder management, coaching, mentoring, project management, or training experience.
• Agile mindset and experience managing multiple workstreams in multicultural, cross-functional, or matrixed environments.
