Fund Controller: Private Equity, Real Estate and Infrastructure

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Annual base salary: $130,000–$160,000 USD, plus potential discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform day-to-day accounting for private equity funds and related investment vehicles.
• Review quarterly and annual NAV packages, financial statements, investor reporting, and ILPA deliverables.
• Calculate and review management fees, carried interest waterfalls, capital calls, distributions, and fund cash balances.
• Manage and guide outsourced accounting providers and collaborate with tax, legal, treasury, client services, and portfolio management teams.
• Support audits, regulatory compliance reporting, ad-hoc client requests, and special projects.
• Participate in technology implementations and improve operational and business processes.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Accounting or Finance with strong academic credentials.
• 4–8 years of experience at a financial services or top-tier accounting firm.
• Knowledge of partnership accounting, financial reporting, auditing, and tax.
• Strong judgment, accuracy, attention to detail, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience with private equity, hedge funds, or other alternative investment products.
• Knowledge of Investran.
