Fund Controlling, Senior Associate

Location: New York, New York; flexible hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week for most roles.

Salary: $121,500–$148,500 base salary for candidates located in New York, plus performance bonus.

What you will do

• Oversee monthly hedge fund and quarterly private equity fund NAV production performed by third-party administrators.
• Review and validate NAVs, financial statements, audit workpapers, accounting records, and supporting files.
• Coordinate annual fund audits from planning through completion, including timelines, documentation, audit requests, and open items.
• Work with auditors, fund administrators, tax providers, valuation specialists, and internal stakeholders to deliver NAV, audit, and tax reporting on schedule.
• Support tax filings, investor reporting, capital calls, distributions, cash management, reconciliations, accounts payable, and expense allocations.
• Evaluate fund terms, investments, valuations, credit facilities, and other fund activity while improving controls and using AI and automation to streamline processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in public accounting, fund administration, or fund accounting, including meaningful responsibility for alternative investment fund audits.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, audit procedures, U.S. GAAP, fund valuations, NAV calculations, and alternative investment fund structures.
• Experience managing audit deliverables and coordinating with auditors, administrators, tax providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Excel and AI tools, including using technology to automate processes, analyze information, and improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong attention to detail, judgment, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
