Assistant Controller/Controller, GP Fund Accounting (Private Equity)

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 base salary annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Support the origination, development, and launch of carry and incentive plans and related compensation projects.
• Maintain and review accounting records in Investran, including analytical reviews and monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Review capital calls and distributions for co-investment and carried interest entities.
• Coordinate reporting and ad hoc requests with fund controllers, tax, compliance, analytics, compensation, legal, and human capital teams.
• Liaise with external auditors on statutory fund audits.
• Coordinate with Employee Investor Services on carry plans, employee co-investment opportunities, and the employee loan program, while helping streamline and automate processes.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience, preferably combining public accounting and private-sector experience.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting with strong academic credentials.
• Strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise; CPA or equivalent certification is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a collaborative and client-serving approach.
• High ethical standards, organizational skills, and the ability to work proactively under pressure.

Nice to have

• General Partner accounting experience.
• Experience with Investran and Salesforce.
