Pharmacy Technician III

Location: Tufts Medical Center Community Care - Stoneham, Massachusetts, United States; onsite

Pay range: $24.65–$30.82 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare and distribute pharmaceuticals while maintaining pharmacy records and providing customer service.
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, inspection, financial transactions, billing, and compliance audits.
• Investigate medication issues and communicate with patients, pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Collect medication profiles and histories, complete benefit investigations, and support high-cost and complex medications.
• Prepare complex non-sterile and hazardous sterile medications, specialized dilutions, allergy testing kits, and specialty infusions.
• Support advanced dispensing workflows, narcotic vault replenishment, barcode validation, and high-priority orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician registration.
• At least one year of pharmacy-related experience.
• Knowledge of medications, including brand and generic names, dosage forms, indications, formulary status, and strengths.
• Ability to stand and walk for approximately 90% of the day and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.

Nice to have

• Associate's degree.
• Two years of pharmacy-related experience in a hospital setting.
• For hospital technicians: experience with hazardous substance handling, complex sterile compounding, and mathematical calculations.
