MID Pharmacy Technician

Location: Onsite at 7447 W Talcott Ave, Chicago, Illinois 60631; full-time, Monday–Friday

Salary: $25–$27 per hour

What you will do

• Dispense oral medications to oncology patients under physician supervision.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, prescriptions, and drug interactions.
• Process prescriptions, bill insurance, troubleshoot Medicare Part B requirements, and submit prior authorizations.
• Apply for foundation and copay assistance for high-cost oral medications.
• Manage prescription labeling, provider sign-offs, patient signatures, filing, daily reports, and EMR documentation.
• Track monthly inventory and order cost-effective medications from vendors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board credential.
• Current knowledge of pharmacy practices and technical functions.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and maintain service quality.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds; regular patient contact may involve exposure to toxic and chemotherapeutic agents.
