PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IVX) (On Call) (Pharmacy)

Location: On-site in Salisbury, Maryland, United States. The role involves 8-to-10-hour shifts, work outside normal business hours when required, travel for training, and standing for several hours.

Base compensation: $23.00–$26.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate advanced automated IV equipment to dispense sterile compounded medications in an aseptic, error-free manner.
• Clean, maintain, troubleshoot, and report unresolved issues with IV automation equipment.
• Identify and order medications and consumable supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Complete fingertip and media fill sampling, documentation, training, and compliance activities.
• Communicate with pharmacy operations managers and customers to resolve issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Act as a subject-matter resource by providing training and workflow support on-site or remotely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active license or registration with a State Board of Pharmacy.
• Active national Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or ExCPT.
• Working knowledge of IV compounding, sterile-environment requirements, PPE, and hand hygiene.
• Organizational, communication, customer service, problem-solving, and independent-work skills.
• Ability to work with mechanical equipment, computers, Microsoft Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint; selected candidates may need to pass a math aptitude test.

Nice to have

• One year of IV compounding experience.
• Two years of hospital pharmacy automation experience.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• Automation implementation and basic automation-device troubleshooting experience.
