What you will do

  • Prepare, compound, and admix oncology and non-oncology medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Verify medication orders for completeness, accuracy, insurance approval, patient information, and physician authorization.
  • Calculate dosage volumes and maintain accurate medication labels, records, temperature logs, and patient assistance documentation.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including quantities, lot numbers, expiration dates, drug supplies, and controlled-substance records.
  • Perform daily hood cleaning, medication expiration checks, quality assurance documentation, and admixture-area maintenance.
  • Dispose of materials used in IV medication preparation in accordance with practice guidelines and applicable state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of pharmacy experience with IV skills.
  • Current knowledge of pharmacy procedures, medication preparation, inventory control, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Ability to work under pharmacist supervision, maintain accurate records, adapt to changing priorities, and uphold quality standards.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, read measurements, perform manual and finger dexterity tasks, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an environment with patient contact and potential exposure to toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and chemotherapeutic agents.

Nice to have

  • IV certification.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate, unless required by state law.
  • Experience providing guidance or training to junior pharmacy staff.
