Silicon Validation Engineer 3 (FPGA)

Base pay: $170,400 annually, plus potential variable or incentive compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Validate and characterize FPGA IP building blocks, including SERDES, DDR memory, D-PHY, PLL, DSP, MIPI, fabric, and I/O, from silicon arrival through production release.
• Develop validation and characterization plans, bench hardware, software, and test automation.
• Develop RTL test logic to support validation and characterization testing.
• Drive new silicon product bring-up, validation, debugging, and datasheet parameter characterization.
• Analyze measured data statistically and prepare datasheet documentation.
• Coordinate with design, verification, manufacturing, test, quality, marketing, and applications teams, and support post-release customer issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience and a degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Expertise in high-speed SERDES interface characterization and protocol compliance testing for interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, SDI, CoaXpress, JESD204, MIPI, USB, DisplayPort, and HDMI.
• Expertise in high-speed board design, signal integrity evaluation, and debugging.
• Expertise with Verilog or VHDL and FPGA development tools.
• Experience developing test automation with Python or Perl, and knowledge of statistical analysis tools such as JMP or R.
• Proficiency with characterization equipment including BERTs, VNAs, oscilloscopes, and protocol exercisers or analyzers; candidates must provide satisfactory proof of the right to work in the United States.
