Senior Hardware Design Engineer (High-Speed Digital/FPGA): Leading system-level hardware design for high-performance electronic systems from architecture definition through production release with an accent on signal integrity, power integrity, and complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal subsystems. Focus on Intel x86 motherboard design, DDR4/5, PCIe Gen5, high-speed Ethernet, FPGA/CPLD implementation, and design-for-manufacturability and reliability.

Location: Spokane Valley, United States

Annual base pay: $160,800–$241,200

What you will do

  • Lead system-level hardware design for new products, including architecture definition, functional specifications, and requirements development.
  • Design complex electrical subsystems from concept through production release, with attention to manufacturability, testability, and reliability.
  • Research emerging technologies and contribute to hardware architecture and new product direction.
  • Author and implement CPLD designs using Verilog HDL when required.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, review designs, and present technical information internally and externally.
  • Coordinate schedules, suppliers, manufacturing partners, validation, issue resolution, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience designing electrical hardware for high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal systems.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and hardware design tools such as Cadence, Altium, or Mentor Graphics.
  • Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal considerations, and board- and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in Intel x86 motherboard design, DDR4/5, PCIe Gen5, 100G/400G/800G Ethernet, Altera and Xilinx FPGA design, CPU VR power supplies, and system-level integration.
  • Proficiency with Verilog HDL for CPLD design, plus familiarity with applicable industry standards and compliance requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with UL, CE, and FCC regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with reliability testing.
