Assistant Market General Manager (Automotive Batteries)

Location: Kansas City, Kansas, United States; onsite operational role with warehouse, vehicle operation, and occasional lifting requirements.

What you will do

• Support the manager in achieving operational, financial, and budgetary goals for a company-owned distributorship.
• Review scorecards, financial statements, and market data to identify variances or declining markets and implement corrective action plans.
• Manage accounts receivable, inventory levels, route efficiency, and equipment and manpower utilization.
• Increase gross profit by growing sales with existing dealers, acquiring new business, and reducing dealer erosion.
• Maintain relationships with key accounts and serve as a primary contact for operational complaints.
• Lead staff meetings, performance management, recognition, training, and coaching.

Requirements

• At least two years of proven managerial experience.
• Proven sales record and strong customer focus.
• Strong oral and written communication, planning, organization, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Experience managing team performance through goals, feedback, and prompt resolution of performance issues.
• Ability to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company operating procedures.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Previous warehouse or distribution experience.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of battery or automotive systems and battery business operations.
