DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: On-site at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, five days a week; occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $55.23–$128.52 per hour.

What you will do

• Support AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS, as well as on-premises and portable edge infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes and manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure.
• Integrate applications into the infrastructure in collaboration with development teams.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolving complex reliability and performance issues.
• Continuously improve infrastructure tools and processes to support high availability and scalability.
• Travel occasionally and help open or close the workspace during regular business hours as needed.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and a current TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with CI polygraph are required.
• At least five years of DevOps engineering or software development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, or the ability to obtain it before starting.
• Ability to work on the customer site in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, five days per week.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, Terraform, Ansible, application and container deployment, and Linux administration.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Go, plus familiarity with Git, Flux, Agile methodologies, and terminal-based environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, SNS, SQS, or Diode.
