DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Columbia, Maryland, with in-office work 1–2 days per week; travel up to 25% to customer sites in Hawaii.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Support the development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and deploy non-cloud edge infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automate application and operating system deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure while improving reliability, availability, and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolve complex issues, and improve DevOps tools and processes.

Requirements

• Current Secret U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• 9+ years of DevOps engineering or software development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet, plus knowledge of AWS services including EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.
• Programming experience with multiple languages such as Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with Git and standard software development tools.
• Ability to work hybrid in Columbia, Maryland 1–2 days per week and travel up to 25% to Hawaii customer sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform.
• Availability for occasional on-call work.
