Electrician (Refinery Electrical Systems)

Location: St Paul Park, Minnesota, United States. Onsite refinery work on a Monday–Thursday, four-day, 10-hour day-shift schedule, with some weekends, nights, and holidays required.

Salary: $59.11 per hour during training, increasing to a maximum of $60.21 per hour after demonstrated qualification and proficiency. Annual increases are scheduled.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and commission refinery electrical systems, including motor circuits, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, variable frequency drives, UPS systems, protective relays, lighting, and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance under the Mechanical Integrity Program and follow applicable company, industry, and manufacturer standards.
• Read electrical one-line drawings and schematics and operate electrical testing equipment.
• Execute lockout/tagout, work permitting, electrical safe-work practices, PPE requirements, and other industrial safety procedures.
• Rack electrical circuit breakers and support turnaround activities as required.
• Collaborate with the electrical team to complete work efficiently and to high-quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minnesota Master or Journeyman Electrician license required.
• At least three years of trade or relevant work experience required.
• Ability to learn complex refinery-related material and familiarity with refinery equipment codes and standards.
• Valid driver’s license and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required upon hire.
• Ability to pass pre-employment written, hands-on, and physical tests, comply with a strict Drug and Alcohol policy, wear refinery PPE, and perform field work indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces.
