TL;DR
Maintenance Technician (Petroleum Pipeline Systems): Maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and SCADA equipment at pipeline stations and terminals with an accent on safety systems, equipment records, and emergency response. Focus on solving complex equipment faults, supporting commissioning and inspection activities, and performing field maintenance in demanding outdoor and hazardous environments.

Location: Onsite in Brisbane, California; must live within 50 miles of the facility or within a one-hour commute.

Pay: USD $56.00–$72.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill set.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, align, and calibrate pumps, motors, valves, meters, tank gauging equipment, gauges, and related station equipment.
  • Maintain electrical, electronic, PLC-based, control, safety, fire control, and SCADA systems.
  • Complete Department of Transportation equipment records, maintenance documentation, CMV logs, and area repair records.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and lubrication maintenance on terminal and mainline equipment.
  • Support engineering projects, preoperational testing, startup, commissioning, vendor coordination, inspections, and contract work reviews.
  • Train other technicians and provide floating technician support to regional locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, technical school degree, or equivalent; technical school education is preferred.
  • Typically 2–4 years of skilled technician or industry-related experience, depending on job level.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, mechanical drawings, and aerial strip maps and maintain as-built drawings.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, DOT requirements, and calibration and maintenance records.
  • Valid state driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, ability to pass a Commercial Motor Vehicle physical, and ability to pass Operator Qualification requirements.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, climb tanks, perform manual labor, work in confined spaces, and respond to 24/7 emergency call-outs.
