Power Generation Electrician

Location: Midland, Texas, United States; full-time, on-site field work involving indoor and outdoor environments, company vehicle operation, and extreme weather conditions.

What you will do

• Install, inspect, test, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
• Work with generators, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, protection devices, and auxiliary electrical equipment.
• Perform electrical terminations, cable routing, panel wiring, and equipment installation using drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, voltage, current, phasing, and functional verification tests.
• Diagnose electrical faults, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and verify readiness before energization or system turnover.
• Document work, diagnostics, and parts used in the computerized maintenance management system while maintaining company property and vehicles.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical college training preferred.
• At least two years of medium-voltage electrical experience and field experience with data centers, micro-grids, mining, or industrial construction.
• Knowledge of NEC and applicable country codes, OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and energized-work controls.
• Fundamental understanding of natural-gas reciprocating and turbine engines, control systems, instrumentation, power generators, electricity, network protocols, and communication devices.
• Current valid driver's license, clean driving record, proficient Microsoft Office 365 skills, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, stand or sit for long periods, work in extreme weather, and safely operate a company vehicle in varied conditions.

Nice to have

• Certified Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician qualification.
• Technical college training.
