Maintenance Electrician

Location: Elyria, Ohio, United States; onsite, fixed 3pm–11pm shift

Salary: Starting at $34.87 per hour; $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible external hires.

Shalmet processes stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, carbon and alloy steels, aluminum, and other nonferrous materials, and rebuilds and re-engineers customer machines as part of hirify.global’s Specialty Alloys Operations division.

What you will do

• Inspect, test, calibrate, repair, install, fabricate, construct, adjust, maintain, dismantle, and clean electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electro-mechanical problems in industrial equipment.
• Install and repair outlets, lighting fixtures, switches, grounding systems, conduits, motor starters, breakers, and overloads.
• Solder electrical and electronic connections and components.
• Operate mobile equipment, overhead cranes, and other required tools and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least two years of industrial maintenance experience are required.
• A resume outlining qualifications and experience must be submitted, and candidates must pass related-trade testing.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics, follow written instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance, electrical components, the National Electrical Code, ARC Flash, Lockout/Tagout, confined space, and hot work procedures.
• Knowledge of 480 Volt AC three-phase systems, 120VAC and 24VDC control systems, basic PLCs, work order systems, and general computer use.
• Overtime is required when requested. Forklift, crane, and high-lift certifications and confined-space training must be completed.
