TL;DR
RF – System Designer (Quantum Computing): Designing complete RF delivery systems, from transmission lines to quantum chips, with an accent on RF architecture, simulation, verification, and testing. Focus on leading complex VHF–X-band system development, applying Ansys Maxwell and HFSS, and collaborating across electronics, ASIC, mechanical, software, and physics teams.

What you will do

  • Lead the design and architecture of complete RF delivery systems, including transmission lines to the quantum chip.
  • Define specifications for key building blocks across the end-to-end RF system.
  • Oversee RF design, simulation, integration, verification, testing methodologies, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with RF, electronics, ASIC/chip, mechanical, software, and physics specialists.
  • Contribute to proof-of-concept development, feasibility discussions, project planning, risk management, scheduling, and progress reporting.
  • Drive the use of advanced RF solutions and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 15–20 years of practical RF design and/or systems engineering experience.
  • Extensive RF front-end and back-end system design experience across the VHF–X-band range.
  • Hands-on experience delivering complex commercial RF systems from concept through production.
  • Proficiency with FEA tools, particularly Ansys Maxwell and HFSS.
  • Knowledge of RF hardware, RFIC and MMIC design principles, low-noise techniques, and complex RF test plans.
  • BEng/BSc degree at minimum 2:1 level in Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, plus strong leadership, documentation, communication, and supplier-management skills.

Nice to have

  • Analogue design and VHF–X-band PCB design experience.
  • Familiarity with the RF vendor supply chain.
  • Experience in team or project management.
  • Pragmatic decision-making and design approach.
